A Teach-in on Catholic Solidarity and the Journey of Migration

Old St. Pat's, the Coalition for Spiritual and Public Leadership, and Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph Parish are organizing City of Welcome: Catholic Solidarity and the Journey of Migration. City of Welcome is a day of education, organizing, advocacy, and communal prayer focused on migrant and refugee justice. Inspired by Pope Leo's reminder that "[the Church] knows that in every rejected migrant, it is Christ himself who knocks at the door of the community," we have been inviting people of faith in the Chicagoland area who serve migrants and are interested in answering the call to "welcome the stranger" to join this teach-in. Our hope is that participants will walk away with newfound hope and responsibility to repair the fabric of the Chicagoland community by equipping them with activism and solidarity with their neighbors.
