Addressing systemic threats to our health

Lead Pipes Campaign

CSPL members are leading a bold, community-rooted campaign to replace toxic lead pipes in our neighborhoods, confronting a systemic health threat that has harmed families—especially low-income, Black, and Brown households—for generations. This campaign reflects the ongoing commitment of our members to confront systemic injustice, translating their insights into organized action, advocacy, and sustained pressure on leaders to replace the pipes that have been poisoning our communities for over 100 years—nearly 40 years past the federal ban on lead pipes in 1986.

Grounded in the sacred belief that every person deserves to live in a safe and healthy home, we will organize residents, partner with parishes, and push elected leaders to fully fund and expedite lead service line replacement. Together, we are striving to make clean water a protected right for every family in every neighborhood.
