People’s Mass for Justice + Peace - Great Lakes Naval Station

Despite a torrential storm, around 300 people gathered in prayerful solidarity for our People's Mass for Justice + Peace outside the Great Lakes Naval Station in North Chicago on September 13, 2025.

San Óscar Romero, the Solidarity Movement in Poland, and similar movements around the world, during times of social upheaval, have made the celebration of Mass as a public demonstration an important part of church history. Our multi-lingual, multi-racial, multi-cultural, and multi-generational 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘱𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 carried on this legacy of pursuing holiness through peaceful, courageous political action.
